Abstract video synthesizer remix experiment whose aurora-like images and analog video glitch distortions reminded me of the Carrington Event of 1859 in which a powerful CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) hit the Earth’s atmosphere resulting in the largest geomagnetic storm on record that disrupted nearly every telegraph line in the world–pretty much the extent of our global electronic infrastructure at the time. Despite a number of close calls since then, it has been estimated that a comparable event today would do an estimated $0.6-2.6 trillion worth of damage to the U.S. alone. Video produced using Lumen remixed live via VDMX and an analog Videffektor. Soundtrack produced with a Roland GR-55 guitar synthesizer edited and mixed in Adobe Premiere.
